Where the Journey Began.
First Client and Best Friend!

Meet Olivia – The Heart Behind Ruff to Fluff

Olivia’s grooming journey started the moment she was old enough to hold a pair of scissors… Growing up with a German Shepherd, she quickly fell in love with the process of caring for her dog’s coat. Before long, she had convinced her family to bring home two more Shepherds—Max, Walker, and Xylie—who became her first “clients.”

Her passion soon grew beyond her own dogs… that’s when Ruff to Fluff was born. Olivia took professional grooming courses, started working with friends’ and neighbours’ dogs, and quickly earned a reputation for her gentle touch and dedication to each pet’s well‑being.

Olivia is committed to every dog that visits Ruff to Fluff. Whether it’s a first‑time puppy or a seasoned senior, her goal is the same: to make every dog look great, feel great, and enjoy the process.

Frequently Asked Questions

Before Your Visit

Q. How do I book a grooming appointment?
A.

It’s easy  just give us a call! We’ll help you pick a convenient date and time over the phone. After scheduling, we'll ask you to fill out a quick online form to confirm your appointment.  This form collects important information about your dog (like their breed, size, and any special needs) and ensures we have your contact details and preferences on file. Don’t worry, it only takes a few minutes and helps us prepare for your dog's visit.

Q. What if I cannot complete the online form?
A.

No problem at all! We understand that not everyone is comfortable with online forms, and some clients may have difficulty due to technology or other limitations. If you’re unable to fill out the form on your own, just give us a call and we’ll be happy to complete it with you over the phone, using the good old-fashioned method of asking you the questions verbally. Our team is very friendly and patient, and we’ll make sure we gather all the necessary information to confirm your appointment. We want the booking process to be easy and accessible for everyone, so please don’t hesitate to reach out if you need assistance. We’re here to help!

Q. Why do I need to fill out an online form after booking?
A.

The online form is our way of making sure we have all the necessary details to give your pup the best care. It includes questions about your dog’s health, temperament, and your contact info. Having this info ahead of time means less paperwork when you drop off and a smoother, faster check-in for you and your dog. It also helps us tailor the grooming experience to your dog's needs, so we can be fully prepared when you arrive.

Q. Are there any vaccination or health requirements?
A.

For the safety of all our furry clients, we do require that your dog’s rabies vaccination is up to date.  If your pup isn’t current on rabies for some reason, please let us know  a letter of exemption from your vet can be accepted in special cases. Also, if your dog has any health issues or allergies, be sure to inform us when booking so we can accommodate their needs.

Q. How should I prepare my dog for grooming day?
A.

There’s not too much you need to do, but a little preparation helps. Here are a few tips to make the day go smoothly:

Potty break: Please give your dog a chance to relieve themselves before coming. A quick walk beforehand will help them be more comfortable during the grooming session.

Timing of meals: It’s best not to feed a big meal right before the appointment. Dogs can get nervous, and an empty (or not overly full) stomach helps avoid any upset tummies during grooming.

Leash and safety: Make sure your pup is on a leash or in a carrier when you arrive, for everyone’s safety. We’ll take it from there!

Other than that, just arrive on time and relax. We’ll handle the pampering, and your well-prepared pup will be set for a great spa day!

Services & Pricing

Q. How much does grooming cost?
A.

Our grooming services typically start at around $40 for a small dog, and go up from there depending on your dog’s breed, size, coat condition, and the services needed. For example, larger breeds or dogs with very thick fur may be on the higher end of the range. We’ll be happy to give you a personalized quote once we know a bit more about your pup. (Most standard full grooming sessions end up falling somewhere between $50 and $150, depending on size and needs.) Keep in mind that these prices include the whole spa treatment from nose to tail!

Q. How long will the grooming take?
A.

Generally, a grooming appointment for one dog takes about 2 hours from start to finish. However, the exact time can vary based on your dog’s size, coat condition, and temperament. Some small or short-haired dogs might be done a little quicker, while others (especially large or fluffy breeds) may take up to 4 hours to complete. We’ll give you an estimated timeframe when you drop off, and we will notify you (call or text) as soon as your pup is finished and ready for pick-up.

Location & Parking – Ruff to Fluff Dog Grooming

Q. How do I find your grooming salon at 247 Norfolk County Road 13, Courtland?
A.

Our salon’s address is 247 Norfolk County Road 13, Courtland, ON N0J 1E0. Please note there is no sign on the road, so you’ll need to watch for the driveway marked “247”. Once you spot the driveway and turn in, follow these steps:

  1. Pull into the driveway. The Salon is in the building on the right hand side of the property.

  2. Look for our signs. You’ll see the “Ruff to Fluff” logo sign attached to the building and a “Parking” signl. These markings identify our salon.

  3. Park and enter. There is ample parking in front of the building. Park in the spot near the Ruff to Fluff sign, and enter through the door right beside that sign.

Following these directions should get you here easily. We look forward to meeting you and your pup at Ruff to Fluff Dog Grooming soon!

During & After the Appointment

Q. Can I stay and watch while you groom my dog?
A.

We know it’s tempting to stay with your furry baby, but we actually recommend that owners do not remain during grooming. In our experience, most dogs are much calmer and more cooperative when they can focus on the groomer without the distraction of their mom or dad in sight. If their favorite person is nearby, pups may get overexcited or anxious, which can make it harder for the groomer to do a safe, thorough job. For that reason, it’s best to drop your dog off with us and come back at pick-up time. Don’t worry – we’ll take excellent care of your pet as if they were our own, and you’re welcome to give us a call anytime during the appointment if you’d like an update on how your pup is doing.

Q. How does drop-off and pick-up work?
A.

We operate as a drop-off service, which means you bring your dog to our salon at the scheduled appointment time, and then you can go about your day while we pamper your pet. When you arrive, we’ll have a quick chat about your dog’s needs and confirm any specific instructions (for example, the style of haircut you’d like). Then you’ll leave your pup in our care and pick them up once grooming is done. We do like to know how far of a drive you have  in order to message you with plenty of time to arrive.  We will send you a text or call you to give you a pick up time.
